New Venom concept and alias gets slipped out during interview

Flash returns from war
So the cat is out of the bag on the new host for the Venom symbiote in Rick Remender's new Venom series. Editor Steve Wacker accidentally revealed the identity of the new Venom, Flash Thompson. Flash has been a staple character throughout Peter Parker's life and I will be interested to see how this develops in their relationship as Flash becomes the host for the Venom symbiote. Flash started off as a bully to Peter's nerd but their relationship has evolved over the years. Flash recently returned from war having lost his legs, a huge blow to a character who has always been the jock type. I am really eager to see where Remender takes this new Venom.

In case you have not been paying attention to Venom in awhile or God forbid think the Spiderman 3 movie is cannon here is a breakdown of what the symbiote has been up too;
  • Spiderman picks up the alien symbiote in secret wars thinking he is using a costume repair machine or some such nonsense on Battleworld in Secret Wars #8.
  • After discovering it's alive an controlling him Spidey gets rid of it using the sonic clang of a church bell.
  • Eddie Brock, who had his career ruined by spiderman becomes the new host of the suit and tries to kill Spidey as Venom for a long time.
  • Mac Gargan, the former Scorpion, became the next host for Venom. Gargan had very little control over the suit and was Known to eat people while wearing it.
  • After the Dark Reign of Norman Osborn the suit was removed from Gargan and is now in government custody.
Franken-Castle

The new Venom looks to be a black-ops type character, which is a different take on the character but I think Remender will do a great job, after all, he is the one who brought us the Franken-castle character so going outside the box is nothing new for him.

a sketched pages remender posted on his Twitter from the new series. I see a return of Jack-O-Lantern in there.
