Walking Dead Season 2: Top 5 things I want to see.
The Walking Dead - The Walking Dead: Season 2 Trailer From Comic-Con – AMC
If this trailer doesn't do it for you than I don't know what does.
-Not zombies and good T.V. I guess.
-I mean hey, even my wife watches it and she is not the zombie horror fan I am.
Anyway, Only 4 More days! I am truly excited! I really want to see where this season will go. There are lot's of things I am looking forward to this season if the comics are any clue as to what is going to happen. For those of you who have not read the comic
STOP READING HERE!
Okay, so now that the spoiler warning nonsense is over let's discuss this season.
Top 5 things I want to see this season.
Look out for a Walking Dead Podcast to be coming soon.
We did one for last season but that has fallen into the pit of unfinished edits. We may post it during this season. who knows.

Okay, so now that the spoiler warning nonsense is over let's discuss this season.
Top 5 things I want to see this season.
- I want to see Shane get what's coming to him. I like Jon Berthal and wish him a successful career and all but I sure am looking forward to Shane getting his. I thought they were going to go there last season but alas it was just a red herring for us comic fans. Shane living to the end of the season was a surprise to me but they have proved that the T.V. show is on a different path than the comic so maybe Shane will be around for a while.
- Are we going to get Tyreese? i sure hope so. If we were following the comic he would be in Episode 1 but we will see. He is not on IMDB but Hershel Greene is so he may not appear. Is T-Dog the T.V. version of Tyreese? T-dog wasn't in the comics so maybe. A poor substitute if I say so. Tyreese fills a role that I don't see T-dog filling. And I hate typing t-Dog. Stupid Hyphen.
- Will we make it to the prison or is it going to end with finding it? This was the beginning of a series of story lines that followed one after the other that were great!
- I want more Merle! He is not from the comic but I want more! I have heard theories that he will become the Governor but that's a hard twist if the governor is going to be anything like what he is in the comic. I know Merle is a little rough but I doubt he would go that far or have the time to set up a whole civilization. After all That would take the whole Governor's daughter Penny out of the picture and I don't want that. That's some deliciously creepy stuff.
- Mother F'N Zombies! No matter where the story goes compared to the comic at least we know the zombies will be there for us. Where the show is not about the zombies or the outbreak but the survivors the zombie are an important part. If it wasn't for the zombies this mismatched group of survivors would not be a social circle.
Look out for a Walking Dead Podcast to be coming soon.

Marvel's Digital Comics Unlimited - Is it worth it?
So I subscribed to the Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited to see what it was all about and if it was worth the money. Well I have to say it is! I've read tons of stuff and all for around $5/month. I never understood the whole buying of digital comics for the same price or $1 less than physical copies but this subscription thing is awesome. I've gone back and read lots of events as well as regular runs without having to dig through all my comic boxes in the garage, which due to the lovely Oklahoma heat is around 100 degrees. It's convenient and really a great option for new readers to check out comics. If I had to suggest a way for someone to check out comics as a new reader I totally suggest the digital unlimited subscription, then you can find out what kind of books you are into and some of the backstory for a pretty easy and small investment. So far I've read the Civil War and Secret Invasion crossovers again and I think I'm going to keep with reading the old crossovers and seeing how they hold up. I'm going to be posting reviews of what I read digitally soon, this way I can review entire story arcs instead of single issues which makes more sense to me anyway (nobody reviews just certain chapters of books or scenes in movies.) so stay tuned for entire story reviews both from digital reads as well as physical copies.

3 Musketeers 3d - Xtreme Edition
Why does everything have to be so over the top action these days? Now I'm all for sky ships and renaissance style flamethrowers but if you are going to go this far from reality why not name it something new instead of leaning on an old title and making it just another remake which Hollywood is doing to much of these days anyway. The largest reality breaking moment I see in the trailer is the crazy spiked ball slide moment at around 2:09, because While this will most likely be fun in a Zach Snyder (300, Watchmen) movie sort of way I'm not expecting a grand plot.
If you want over the top action in a genre that seems appropriate, check out the new Conan the Barbarian trailer. I must say I think Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo - Game of Thrones) may put Arnie (The Govenator) -You should really click this link- to shame but only time will tell.
What are you doing friday? I'm watching Torchwood.
Torchwood, the spinoff awesomeness of Dr. Who returns and is on Starz this friday. It's time to call your cable guy and sign up for Starz. If you have not seen Torchwood check it out on Netflix instant watch, it's worth it, and if you have not seen the show it comes from, Dr Who, there is no hope for you. Or you could watch it on Netflix instant as well.

We are also soon going to start posting things to a youtube page ( http://www.youtube.com/user/amazingleague ). No there is nothing there yet but soon there will be, there will be. That's it for now I have to finish unpacking my computer after my recent move, Yeah moving in July, at least it was over 100. I leeave you with a video from the A.V. I'm back and have a little rant for you.
So I'm back to reality from working on a movie and need to catch up on my reading as well as my blogging. I thought I'd be able to keep up with things after I got off work or on my days off but boy was I wrong. Apparently after working 12 - 14 hour days there isn't much extra time or energy to read comics or write about them, and I'm not even going to discuss podcasting.
The biggest news while I was away was the reboot of the D.C. universe. Now that I've actually started reading some D.C. titles and have caught up on the who's who of the D.C. universe (or at least the books I or Schuyler read) everything is changing. Crap. Now mind you, I get that they are trying to bring new readers to comics, which is good for everyone, but what about the current readers? are they so confident that we are hooked on these titles enough that we will keep buying no matter what they do? I know that the base character concept will stay the same but what happens to all the stories we have invested money and time in? I feel there are ways to bring new readers to the books without rebooting.
I hated when marvel did it with Spider-man, the Heroes Reborn crap back in the 90's and every other time they did it in comics, but I always buy in out of pure curiosity and I'm sure I will again so I guess that part of there goal is successful. I do always wonder how the non comic readers are supposed to know this is a good time to jump on when comics usually only advertise in other comics and comic related magazines. The best way to get new readers is to make affordable, good quality books. When I first started reading comics it was in the middle of a storyline and I managed to figure out what was going on and I was 12, and new very little about comics apart from the super-friends cartoon. Modern readers have many options to get into comics, and most likely have had more exposure to the genre from other mediums, without all the gimmicks. With most book stores carrying graphic novels and lots of comics having a synopsis of what came before in the story on the front page, it's not hard to get new readers caught up. Instead of rebooting and not letting your characters truly evolve over time, give your audience some credit and if you want new readers maybe try advertising in other outlets instead of just your own media, lets get some ad space for batman comics in Time magazine, and not for movies or video games but the original source - The Comics.

Amazing League Podcast 05/04/11
Hey nerds!
I'm sorry this is late getting posted, but Geoff's off working on a movie, and I, Schuyler, must take over as posting-the-podcast/blog-guy guy. Needless to say, it was more work than I had anticipated.
Anyway, lots of cool stuff happened in the books we picked up last week. Dead whales and whatnot... If you don't know what I'm referring to then you aren't reading Detective Comics, which you should be. We also touch on Kid Rock and Legion's similar taste in hair styles, X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, the Walking Dead, and everything else we read. Huh... Talking about comics... Imagine that...
You should also check out this new trailer for X-Men: First Class if you haven't already. 'Cause we're talking about that as well.
In this episode you will also be hearing music from By The End of Tonight and Ris Paul Ric. And we highly recommend you check them out.
As always, we are hungry for any feedback all two of you have for us! Send us an email letting us know what you think of us professionally or personally, or just give us some reading suggestions!
Anyway, we'll be back in a week with another podcast or two!

It's a big stack week for me,
I've got a ton of books coming out this week but before I get into that lets talk about Podcasts. Our Comic Book Review Podcast and Pull List Podcast 4-27 are up on our blog home page and Itunes, so go check them out to here more details on what we picked up last week and what we are picking up today.
4-26 Pull List
Batman Incorporated #5 $2.99 - Its a maybe for me. Schuyler wants to see where things are headed with Morrison at the Helm but I'm a little on the fence on this one.
Detective Comics #876 $2.99 - Both Schuyler and I are loving this book. The Commissioner Gordon-centric story has been great.
The Walking Dead #84 (MR) $2.99 - without spoiling things, is he going to die? Who will live? Kirkman is continuing to do an incredible job on this series.
Age of X: Universe #2 (of 2) $3.99 - Why Not finish it out? Universe has been interesting, more than the actual crossover has been for me.
Amazing Spider-Man #659 $3.99 - Another Future Foundation story.
Avengers #12.1 $2.99 - Will I fall for buying another .1 issue? maybe. We will see.
FF #2 $2.99 - Dr. Doom joins the Future Foundation. Will this go badly? I say yes.
New Mutants #24 age of X conclusion $2.99 -
Osborn #5 (of 5) $3.99 - What does the future hold for good old Normie.
Uncanny X-Men #536 $3.99 One-armed Breakworlders have come to earth. Not good news for the X-Men.
Venom #2 $2.99 - Venom and Kraven in the Savage Land.
X-Men #10 $3.99 - Dark Beast, Spider-man, X-Men and the Lizard. Oh and did I mention Chris Bachalo on art, it's a win all around.
Incorruptible $2.99 - I am behind on this but Schuyler keeps reassuring me to keep buying. Ill have some time to catch up soon but if the first 12 are any indication, Incorruptible is worth picking up.
Action Comics #900- Superman is back in Action Comics and the cover is by Alex Ross. Should Be cool.
American Vampire #14 - Schuyler loves this and it's sounded pretty good to me. If i wasn't so tired of vampires I'd be getting this too. If you like vampires pick up this book.
Haunt #15 - Still getting a lot of approval from Schuyler, personally, I may pick up the trades on this title .
